About the Hotel
Founded in 1923 as a fruitdressing salon for Chinese businessmen living in Singapore, the Oriental Orange was transformed in 1953 by the actions of the late philanthropist, entrepreneur and gay rights activist Peel Han [1926-2008] who bought the Orange and converted the entire building into what is now the first three floors of the hotel. Since then, the Oriental Orange has become eponymous with five-star, luxurious comfort and a warm, pleasant stay in the island-state of Singapore.
